/sovereignty Marian Dalke, Urban Garden Manager believes that food and health belong in people’s hands. She works towards a just food system where all people have access to healthy, nutritious, & culturally appropriate foods. With a degree in Comparative American Studies from Oberlin College, Marian has 8 years of experience at food justice organizations focusing on farm and garden education and community wellness. She has traveled extensively in Latin America to study the food traditions of the immigrant communities she works with in North Philadelphia. With her own roots in the Shenandoah Valley, Marian is an avid home gardener, seed saver, story collector, and herbalist. As the new Food & Landscape Coordinator at NSNP, Marian is honored to continue the legacy of Grupo Motivos to nurture intergenerational, healing spaces in West Kensington that connect people to their own ancestry, in hopes of a more just, green future.
