The Movement atmosphere is looking at the intersections of the project’s eight public sites and proposing ways in which these sites can influence one another across the city and at the Museum. The Production Editors are part of this Movement atmosphere, working with collaborators to record and narrate the project and its growth as they capture it in film, audio, image, and word.

Grounded While Walls Fall profiles practices of resilience and spiritual grounding among organizers, cultural workers, and movement builders in Greater Philadelphia. Documentary portraits orbit a central question, “What practices keep you grounded in your work for social change?” to explore spirituality, care of self and community, and inner power at the grassroots.

PHLA Film Program

Presented in the Perelman Building exhibition in four parts—Fight Back!, Philadelphia Spaces: A Program from Scribe, Youth Star Rising, and Grounded While Walls Fall—these films revealed connections among the five Philadelphia Assembled atmospheres, weaving together and recognizing layers of intersection in their ongoing work to connect diverse communities through sharing space, experiences, and ideas.

The Philadelphia Assembled Kitchen

While Philadelphia Assembled was at the Perelman Building, there were new smells and tastes emerging from the Philadelphia Assembled Kitchen. Imagined by Pascale Boucicaut, Kristin Schwab, and Shanti Mayers, together with cooks from across Philadelphia, the cafe was transformed into a Philadelphia-based culinary experience.

Visages of the Underground: Move-in

In the project's second phase during the summer 2017, elements of the PHLA public sites moved in a public procession from the city to the Museum’s Perelman Building. Conceived by Keir Johnston and Ernel Martinez of the artistic collaborative, Amber Art & Design, this series of performances was collectively titled, Visages of the Underground.

Youth Dream Trust
