Through lecture, PowerPoint, and experiential activities, this training session will assist anyone working with youth in acquiring the knowledge and skills to understand and support LGBTQ youth and young adults. Topics covered will include: terms regarding sexual orientation and gender identity, difficulties LGBTQ youth face in “coming out”, trends involving LGBTQ youth, family acceptance as a resiliency factor for LGBTQ youth, and action strategies and best practices for supporting and affirming LGBTQ youth! Facilitated by Phantazia Washington of The Attic Youth Center.
