The History of Displacement on the American Continent

Join us for an interactive talk with PHLA collaborator Brujo De La Manch addressing the 500 years of displaced native populations of the now called American continent - from the arrival of the Spanish, to the English man, to other Europeans and the trade of humans.

The talk will be followed by the screening of the documentary "Belmont Grove (Fairmount Park) Reclaiming Coaquannock," which tells the story of how Belmont Plateau served as a powerful gathering space for Philadelphia's native communities from 1974 to 1992. The screening will end with a group discussion alongside local natives.

Closing performance by Ollin Yoliztli Calmecac and a drum circle to share the universal heartbeat!
