Teach-In on the Impact of Mass Incarceration on Families

How does mass incarceration impact Philadelphia families? Join us for a teach-in on this topic, as representatives from the Youth Art and Self-Empowerment Project (YASP) and Alumni Ex-offenders Association (AEA) directly address the ways in which their experiences of incarceration has impacted their lives, their families, and the community. YASP is organized to appeal Act 33 which is a law that allows children to be adjudicated directly into the adult system without due process. In these instances, judges have no power to consider mitigating circumstances. AEA is an organization of returning citizens that provides principal leadership within their lives and, in turn, their communities.

Please note that space is limited for this event to 25-30 people, seats available on a first come-first serve basis.
