Lacunae

A play by Mona Washington.

‘Lacunae’ Synopsis: A play about “Philadelphia Assembled”, ‘Lacunae’
explores the artistic dynamic relationship between the individual and the
collective, and micro and macro intentions. Told through the inter-lapping
stories of a hipster girl and a director making a commercial about gentrification
and displacement, and meetings between the “Philadelphia Assembled”
artist and ‘The Moorish Chieftain’ (from the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s
iconic painting), the plays within a play explore our attempt to make
meaningful public art in the City of Brotherly Love.
