Displacement Teach-In
Rising housing costs and stagnant wages in Philadelphia are leading to the displacement of working class people of color, and the businesses and institutions that serve them. Philadelphia also boasts a long legacy of racialized discrimination in areas of housing, property, and land acquisition that continue to impact our community today. Join other Philadelphia residents at an energizing and participatory Gentrification Teach-In to share your experience of gentrification, understand some of its causes and learn about the PHL Assembled Reconstruction Atmosphere, an art initiative sponsored by the Philadelphia Art Museum. Participants will be led by facilitators from the Women's Community Revitalization Project/Philadelphia Coalition for Affordable Communities and Michaela Pommells of Corajus.
