DESCRIPTION

The General Strike is intendened to create a disruptive economic reaction. This is a General Strike against Trump and his administration. It is our goal to have Trump removed from the presidency and any other candidate or cabinet member that we feel is unfit and unwilling to stand up for all US citizens regardless of that citizen's complexion, ethnicitiy, religion, orientation, gender, or economic status. We the people demand fair educational and economic opportunities for all citizens, access to health care for all, and the protection of our constitutional rights.

The General Strike is in protest of Trump and co's outright racism, xenophobia, and corruption. We recognize past administrations are also responsible for discriminatory actions that disenfranchised its citizens... Trump does not exist in a vaacum but he is an accelorator.

This General Strike which will be a part of a greater struggle, is a one-day effort. To participate in the General Strike, you do not go to work; if you are a business owner, you do not open/you close your business for the day. Do not purchase or sell anything in a store or online or from your home. There is an understanding that some citizens may be in danger of losing a job, or a small business could be in danger of significant risk, or that we need our emergency services and workers to protect and serve our communities - and there will be people who do not feel comfortable participating.

If you are a business owner that wants to participate in solidarity but cannot close for the day, it has been proposed that at the very least you close for a 2 hour period of time friday. 12-2pm is the common time frame being proposed and it also coincides with the rally that is happening at Clark Park in West Philadelphia.
