Music, Speakers and The solution Fair is at the Friend Center, 1501 Cherry Street. WE are still Marching at 2 PM. Music after the March and come, celebrate and be part of the solution fair.
The March Against Monsanto is a way to increase awareness of the companies that are benefactors of corporate subsidies and political favoritism. Organic and small farmers suffer losses while Monsanto continues to forge its monopoly over the world’s food supply, including exclusive patenting rights over seeds and genetic makeup. Monsanto’s GMO seeds are harmful to the environment; for example, scientists have indicated they have caused colony collapse among the world’s bee population.
Gmo-Free PA was initiated to educate the Commonwealth on genetically engineered ingredients and let people have a better understand how they can be GMO-free is they choose to be.
It is our belief that the transparency in labeling will strength the local food economy and bring stronger growth to the farming industry in the commonwealth. Focusing on the nutrient dense crops that you can eat right out of the field planted in fertile soil that is alive with organic matter. This rich organic soil not only feeds us but helps the world in CO2 emissions, documented by Rodale Institute from Kutztown PA. We need “that” call of action from our legislators to be socially responsible and engaged in food policy and enact the precautionary principle when it come to genetically engineered ingredients.
We would like to have you table at the March Against Monsanto because you bring solutions to our local food supply. Please email us at RighttoknowPA@gmail.com
