Rights not Rescue

PHLA joins Philly Red Umbrella Alliance, a collective by and for sex workers, in honoring International Sex Workers’ Day! Join us in showing up in solidarity with sex workers fighting for rights, safety, and self-determination! This day commemorates June 2, 1975, when more than 100 sex workers staged an occupation of the Saint-Nizier church in Lyon, France in support of decriminalization. More than a quarter-century later, this is still our demand! ☂

Following the rally there will be a SOLIDARITY PARTY with Spirited Tattooing Coalition, who are hosting tattoo flash specials and there will be light food and music in their backyard! Located at 4918 Baltimore Ave. Artists from Spirited Tattooing Coalition will be offering flash sheets in solidarity with sex workers to benefit Red Umbrella Alliance! Choose from a variety of designs and enjoy food and music in the backyard with your friends too. Ink is first-come, first-served, so get there early! This part of the day is 18+.
